The role

We have an exciting opportunity for a New Development Sales Consultant within our Winnipeg region. This position reports directly to the National New Development Manager. The successful candidate will be accountable for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with local developers and builders throughout Winnipeg and Saskatoon.

The successful candidate will be responsible for signing marketing and access agreements with local builders on upcoming residential and mix-used projects, as well as looking after their business telecom needs for their communities and buildings.

A typical day

• Establish and maintain strong and trusting relationships with building owners/managers through personal contact and superior customer service
• Design and implement sales and marketing strategies, optimizing market potential in all Multiple Dwelling Units (MDU) and Single Family (SFU) opportunities across Western Canada
• Negotiate access and marketing agreements for Consumer, Shaw Business and Freedom with building owners/managers
• Promote the features, advantages, and benefits of Shaw’s products and services to potential new development customers and at events
• Provide consistent sales reporting as well as detailed monthly analysis of sales efforts
• Optimize market potential with respect to current and emerging opportunities in the satellite industry
• Identify and monitor measures to overcome competitive activities within our market
• Assist with research related to annual budget preparation
• Promote and represent Shaw in a positive and professional manner various other duties as needed

Your skills/experience

• 3-5 years B2B selling experience with an emphasis in the area of telecommunications and/or residential/ mixed-use development
• Driven, self-motivated, and goal-oriented – the ideal candidate thrives in a flexible, entrepreneurial environment and can work independently or collaborate with the team
• Strong knowledge of the telecommunications industry for both the Consumer and Business demographics is considered an asset
• Strong sales, organization, and time management skills
• Positive attitude, self-motivator, goal-oriented with the ability to foster strong relationships
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
• Team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Possess a vehicle, maintains a valid driver’s license, and must provide a driver’s abstract annually
• A positive, “can-do” attitude and customer-focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy, and sincerity
